myce - Mein Center

ECE Group
Project Overview
The goal of the application is to fit all ECE shopping centers inside one app so that the user has the whole "myce-world" inside their pocket. To achieve this goal we developed a new design language and reworked crucial User Flows to ensure maximum usability. Furthermore we worked out a Loyalty Programm and gamification elements to make shopping more exciting.
My Contributions
The first steps for me was performing an UX Audit for all existing screens. I worked out potential flaws within the user expereince of the application. Based on the findings i redesigned many screens and user flows of the app. Furthermore I worked on the UI-elements and creating new components for the Design Library. With all screens designed I created a comprehensive Click-Dummy which we tested out in a Usability Testing inside of a shopping center.
I layed out all existing screens and reworked the design.
Motion Design was a big part of the project, where I created all Animation inside the app.
For the Loyalty Programm I developed the concept.
Furthermore I created all gamification screens and UI Elements.
The project started with a big redesign of the overall look and feel of the existing app. My involvement began with a comprehensive UX audit, where I reviewed all existing app screens to evaluate their usability and identify areas for improvement. Based on the findings, I developed new user flows, wireframes, and UI elements for features such as news articles, coupons, and shop overview pages.

A key part of this process was designing the app’s parking section, enabling users to manage and pay for their parking tickets within the store’s parking facilities seamlessly.

Another major aspect of this project was motion design. I created an extensive clickable prototype to define and showcase all app animations, ensuring a smooth and engaging user experience. This prototype was not only instrumental in finalizing the motion design but also served as the foundation for conducting a usability test in a real-world department store setting. Through this project, I combined a user-centered design approach with technical precision to deliver a cohesive and engaging app experience.
Process
This project provided valuable lessons, particularly in adapting quickly and dynamically to changing client requirements. Since the app already had existing screens, it was essential to present and convincingly advocate for our new ideas, demonstrating why the old design needed improvement.

I gained significant experience in UI design, as I was responsible for creating many of the app’s new UI elements. Additionally, my expertise in prototyping proved instrumental in developing a cost-efficient and highly functional click dummy, which served as a central tool for both showcasing animations and conducting usability tests.

The usability test itself was a highlight, as it allowed me to acquire new skills in planning, executing, and analyzing user feedback in a real-world setting. Overall, the project sharpened my ability to balance creativity with practicality while effectively communicating and implementing design improvements.
